Byteshrink started from a simple frustration: every free PDF and image compressor wants you to upload your documents to its servers first.
What we set out to build
A tool that does the whole job — opening, cropping, resizing and saving — right on your own device, so there is never a copy of your file on anyone else's computer.
The result is Byteshrink: a step-by-step helper with real, adjustable settings and a proper crop tool, free to use with no account and no watermark on your files.
How it works
Everything happens inside the web page you already have open. There is no upload, no waiting in a queue and no account to create.
When you open the tool, the part that does the compressing loads in the background, then runs entirely on your device. Your files are gone the moment you close or refresh the tab.
